The Narasimha Avatar is the center of attraction in this epic and sacred festival that goes for nearly one month on Patan Dabali Chowk near Patan Durbar Square so-called Katik Dance. The festival was initiated around the 17th century by Malla Newa King or Maharaj Siddhi Narsingh Malla. Narsimha Avatar is the main attraction of the festival powered by mighty God Narsimha who is the form of incarnation of Lord Bishnu. The god had came to earth to maintain peace and destroy the terrorism being spread by demon Hiranyakasyapa. After defeating the powerful demon, the show is followed by Apsara dance which generates the vibes of returning back to those old days when the city was ruled by our ancestors.
